Franchy Cordero Signs in Japan

Former BoSox slugger Franchy Cordero has signed a contract with the Seibu Lions of the Japanese Baseball League.

Cordero alongside righty Josh Winckowski and three-minor league players were all-apart of the Andrew Benintendi trade; that sent the outfielder to the Kansas City Royals.

Cordero, a slugger known for his polarizing power never found his rhythm in the bigs. The righty bounced around throughout seven seasons playing with the Padres, Red Sox, Royals, and most recently the New York Yankees. Cordero has a lifetime .217 batting average, alongside 27 home runs in just over 250 career major league games.
