Boston Give Lyle to Blues

Brady Lyle, a defenseman for the Boston Bruins, has been traded to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for future considerations.

Lyle was previously signed by the Bruins from the Ontario Hockey League's North Bay Battalion. Lyle has spent the last two seasons in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins.

Since he arrived at Bruins Prospect Camp, Bruins fans and scouts have been excited about their latest signee. Many praised his strength and offensive prowess.

Last season, the defenseman scored 14 points in 25 games.

Lyle has struggled both offensively and defensively this season. He has 9 points in 48 games and a -7. Lyle's statistics convinced Bruins GM Don Sweeney that he was not the right fit for the organization.

Lyle's move to St. Louis should jolt him into action and help him improve his performance. Lyle would be unable to be called up by the Blues this season because he was traded after the trade deadline.

The Blues assigned Lyle to the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds shortly after the trade.
