Who is Brad Lambert?

Brad Lambert is a forward from Finland who currently plays for the Pelicans in the Finnish Liiga. Lambert was born in Canada, where his father was a hockey player, but grew up and played in Finland.

Lambert is a top-tier talent who could play in the Liiga U16, U18, and U20 leagues. He frequently moved up and played as a younger player.

Lambert's first taste of international hockey would come at the U16 tournament for Finland. In only eight games, he would score 15 points.

During the 2019-20 season, the elite goal-scoring threat would make his Liiga debut for HIFK, appearing in four games. Lambert would score two points in four games against men as a 16-year-old.

Lambert would be transferred to JYP, another Liiga team, the following season. As a 17-year-old, he would earn a full-time spot and play 46 games. He had seven goals and eight assists for a total of fifteen points that season. Lambert was ranked second overall in the 2022 NHL Draft as a result of his performance.

Lambert was also named to Finland's World Juniors team, where he appeared in all seven of the country's games. And as one of the tournament's youngest players, he would win a bronze medal, he also scored four points.

Lambert is currently in his draft season (2021-22) and began the year with JYP. He's played 24 games and only scored six points, a significant drop from previous seasons. Lambert was in trouble, and his draught stock was dwindling.

JYP would then move Lambert to the Pelicans in the hopes of providing him with a change of scenery. The forward has appeared in 25 Pelicans games and has scored four points, still a struggle.

Lambert's World Juniors performance was the only bright spot in his 2021–22 season. Lambert had five points in two games before the tournament was cancelled!

Overall, Lambert was and is a highly talented player who flashed the potential to be an elite scorer. However, due to his poor performance in the Finnish Liiga, his draft stock has plummeted significantly. Lambert is expected to be a first-round pick, if not a top-10 pick.
