The Key Notes from Boston's Game vs WSH (10/12/22)

Game 1. The Bruins head over to the nation's capital, to battle with the 2018 Stanley Cup champions, the Washington Capitals. Both teams are coming into the season with seasoned expectations, and on the brink of a Stanley Cup window.

Bruins Pounce Early

Good ole' Patrice Bergeron, scores again. The Bruins captain potted in his first goal of the season on the power play. Bergeron was found himself in his usual bumper position, picked up a rebound and potted the puck in. Bergeron was assisted by both David Krejci and David Pastrnak.

Just eight minutes later in the first period, Pastrnak would tally his first of the season. Pasta received a pass from David Krejci, beat his check, walked to the middle and snipped a spin-o-rama shot past Washington's goalie. Furthermore, d-man Connor Clifton also recorded an assist on the play.

Lastly, during the second period, Taylor Hall would be the beneficial of a tic-tac-toe play. Mike Reilly and David Pastrnak pick up assists on the play.

The Czech Connection was Strong

Boston's Czech-line, has had a strong game. Krejci, Pastrnak and Zacha have all recorded points throughout the game. The second-line, was the best offensive line of the night, as they combined for a total of eight points tonight. 


Pastrnak was strong offensively throughout the night, recording a goal and three assists. Krejci looked like he never left the NHL, as the veteran recorded a goal of his own, along with two assists. While, offseason acquisition Pavel Zacha, recorded an assist and three shots on goal.

Ullmark Sharp in First Start

It was a toss up between which netminder would start tonight's game, but for Jim Montgomery it looks like he made the correct decision.

The Caps started the game off slow before picking up speed, and firing numerous shots on goal. Ullmark looked steady within the crease just allowing two goals on 35 total shots.

Furthermore, the netminder recorded a 2.00 GAA and a .943 save percentage.

To conclude...

Boston concluded the game adding insurance goals and ultimately taking the game by the score of, 5-2. The Bruins will have the next couple of days off, before they head home to play the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday.
