Reds Offically Ink Jeimer Candelario to Three-Year Deal

The Reds have officially signed Jeimer Candelario to a three-year contract, worth $45M. The deal also comes with a club option that would extend the contract to four years with a value of $60M.

Candelario, now 30, split time last season with both the Washington Nationals and the Chicago Cubs. The veteran third basemen completed the season with a 2.9 WAR, along with 22 home runs and a solid .251 batting average.

Candelario was a highly-rated talent who ranked near the top of the farm systems in both Chicago and Detroit before his big league debut.

The newest Red has played in over 700 big leagues with a lifetime batting average of .243.
