Vegas Hires Bruce Cassidy

The Vegas Golden Knights have hired Bruce Cassidy as their third head coach in franchise history.

Cassidy, the former head coach of Boston, was let go just weeks ago. Rumors came out that reportedly Bruins management told Cassidy his job was safe. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

Cassidy has been in Boston’s organization since the 2008-09 season, serving as the assistant coach for Providence (AHL). He would then be named the interim head coach during the middle of the 2016-17 season.

Cassidy did not miss a single playoff leading the Bruins his accomplishments include The Jack Adams award during the 2019-20 season.

The Vegas Golden Knights previously relieved former Peter DeBoer of coaching duties after the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. After, Vegas failed to make the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.

The Knights and Cassidy hope to strive for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
