Kraken Place Justin Schultz on IR, Call-Up Max McCormick

The Seattle Kraken have announced that they have placed defenseman Justin Schultz on injured reserve, and have called-up Max McCormick from Coachella Valley.

Schultz lasted played in Seattle's game against the Edmonton Oilers on January 17th, where he logged just over ten minutes of ice-time. Schultz was ruled out and was considered week-to-week, but has since been upgraded to injured reserve.

The veteran d-man has been quite solid this season recording a total of five goals and 19 assists in 42 games, while averaging about 18 minutes per game.

The Kraken have called-up Max McCormick who has played in 38 AHL games with Coachella, notching 18 goals and 24 assists.

Furthermore, the Kraken are also without Matty Beniers (upper-body), Chris Driedger (knee), Joonas Donskoi (upper-body), and Jaden Schwartz (undisclosed). Seattle currently sits among the top of the Western Conference, so it wouldn't be a surprise if GM Ron Francis pulls a string and makes a move.
