Juraj Slafkovský will be BETTER then Shane Wright - Season Projections, Game Breakdown, and more

Juraj Slafkovský was selected first-overall by the Montreal Canadiens, this past draft. The move shocked part of the hockey world, as projected first-overall pick Shane Wright, slipped to four overall. Like many highly projected players, Slafkovský will feel the pressure this season after being selected first-overall.  Did the Montreal Canadiens make the right selection, by passing on Shane Wright? Who is Shane Wright?

Shane Wright is a high-end prospect in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Wright is originally from Burlington, Ontario, and played his minor hockey with the Don Mills Flyers organization. In 72 games with the Flyers in his U-16 season, he scored a total of 150 points. He and his teammates also won the OHL Cup. Wright would then be given exceptional status by the CHL and be selected first overall by the Kingston Frontenacs during the 2019 OHL Draft. In addition, he would be drafted 175th overall by the Chicago Steel in the 2021 USHL Draft (the junior hockey league in the United States). In his first season with Kingston, Wright would be selected to wear the "A". In 58 games, he would score 66 points. However, the Frontenacts were one of the worst teams in the entire OHL.
